Jailbreak iphone 3gs ios6

Thank you for welcoming me to your forum I hope to learn a lot about iphones. Now I need your help. I just got a used iphone 3gs ios 6.0.1 it was unlocked by at&t my carrier now is T-Mobile. I would like to jailbreak it untethered, but I checked and found out that it has the new bootrom which will not allow untethered jailbreak. Please tell me if this true and if it is not please tell me how to accomplish this task coppinc. Can I revert to the "Old Bootrom" 3GS so it will be untethered.

A "New Bootrom" 3GS has a Tethered Only JB available via redsn0w v. 0.9.15b3. Nothing Untethered yet for anything running iOS 6+.... except for the "Old Bootrom" 3GS.
