itunes backing up apps I don't even have installed anymore

so I was trying out some games that I just wanted to test on my iPhone, deleted them, didn't think much of it. I plugged it into my computer later and iTunes for some reason downloaded and backed up apps that I didn't even have on my iPhone anymore, so now I have a few GBs of games sitting on my computer HDD that I never wanted there in the first place. Any ideas as to how to get those off?
