Since I've updated to Yosemite on my MacBook Pro, I've been connecting my iPhone 6 more an more to try out all of the features, including the iOS 8 screen recorder feature in Quicktime. However, since the update to both new operating systems, every single time I plus in my iPhone, iPhoto opens up automatically.

Now this might not be an issue for all, but if I'm charging an iDevice on my MacBook, then going to the kitchen, then coming back to put it back on the charger, you can see how this can start to get annoying. Well there's a simple workaround for the issue in the iPhoto Preferences.

To disable the auto-launch, ironically open up iPhone, go to Preferences, drop down the 'Connecting camera opens' under general, and switch it to 'No application'.

Vuola! Now you will need to manually open up iPhoto whenever you need to transfer some selfies, instead of it opening up by itself.
