iphone set up

Hi,everytime my son connects his iphone to itunes it run the iphone set up,also when he tries to download the firmware update he gets the message not connected to the internet,but the pc is connected to the internet,i also have an iphone which is use on a different user account without any problems.
Its an iphone 3gs and i am running windows 7,and i have the latest version of itunes.thanks

Turn off any antivirus or firewall softwares install in the computer, reboot your computer and try it again.

Have already tried that,but with anti virus and firewall on it works ok on my user account.

It may work under you're username. But each user name has it's own settings for antivirus and firewall so his settings may be preventing him from updating while you're settings are allowing everything to function correctly.

DISCLAIMER: I have no experience with 7. But that's how it is in XP and Vista

I had the same problem but made a new admin account and everything worked fine
