iPhone not receiving notifications for messages!!

I recently dropped my iPhone and cracked the back so I'm pretty sure this is the problem but whenever I receive a new text message I am not receiving a notification for it but must instead open up the messages app. Does anyone know any other reason this would be happening? Thank you for any help!!

And you already checked your settings? I don't know how but if the iPhone became broken in any way and may have shut down or reset, or really anything it may have changed the settings.
Anyway, you can check about receiving text notifications under:
Settings>Notifications>Messages
Then in there check for anything "suspicious" such as the notification center turned off of or such.
