Forbes has some very encouraging news for Apple today, writing that the iPhone 6 is “blowing away the competition in Japan.”

According to BCN’s weekly rankings, the iPhone 6 held 8 of the top 10 spots, with the iPhone 5s in 5th and 8th place. The iPhone 6 Plus had a high ranking of 11th, and took 5 of the next 7 spots.

BCN’s new figures also reveal that up until Sunday, September 21, Softbank had 42.9% of iPhone sales in Japan, KDDI or au had 32.2%, and NTT DoCoMo had 24.9%. The iPhone 6 had 82.2% of the share, and the iPhone 6 Plus had 17.8%, with the 4.6 to 1 ratio being akin to similar figures in the US and Europe.

Forbes says that the fact that the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus was put back in China has been very good for lead times in countries such as Japan, which consequently has lead times of 7-10 business days for the iPhone 6 and 3-4 weeks for the iPhone 6 Plus, which is again similar to lead times in the US, UK and Australia.
