hi guys my daughter found an iphone4s about 2month ago and its just been in the door.
soive done a lil reading and was jut wondering is it possible to unlock the phone to use
as a pay as u go phone as I think he phone was on contract. also will jailbreaking the phone
allow me to unlock it. ive never done a iphone b4 so sorry for all the questions. or is the phone
only good for spare n repair, cheers guys,

Considering that the device was lost and found, the original owner has most likely reported it missing/stolen, so the ESN/IMEI has been flagged and cannot be used with any carriers. The correct thing to do when finding a stolen/missing device is to hand it over to Apple or the local authorities so that the original owner can know that a good samaritan has found the stolen/lost device and that the data on the device has not been compromised as the device was handed back to those with authority.
