iphone 4 wont connect to my network extender!

I put in a new netgear router a while back in my upstairs office, not long after that I added a netgear wifi range extender to get full signal downstairs to ps3, apple tv and ipad 1 & 2. All of them connect to the extender fine but when I try to connect my wifes iphone 4 to the extender network I can never get the check mark beside it to say it connects like I can get it to do with my orginial wifi home network. So why will her phone connect to the original network and not the extended network when everything else does? Any ideas what's holding it out?

That's a strange one, I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will have an answer, but in the meantime...
Remove the security and see if this makes a difference..
Check there is no one close on the same wifi channel, have found this can stop wireless devices logging on
