Iphone 4 unlock help

Hi just a quick question. I called my network to get them to unlock my iphone4 to any network on the 12th august. The phone still hasnt unlocked so i called them back and they told me to keep syncing it to itunes and said it should say unlocked. Is this right? Also i took my sim card out the phone as somebody else is using it will this affect the unlocking of the phone?. And finally if i took it to the apple shop would they unlock it for me there and then? Or not.

put the sim card back in there and when you sync with itunes it will say congratulations you are now unlocked.. you must have the sim in there.

I think you have to put a sim from another network and then sync in iTunes.

no put the carriers sim in there and you will be fine

No it should not do because it uses your iphones imei and adds it to a unlocked list on apples servers. But try put it in if it has not worked with it out after all this time.

Yes you should get a message on itunes saying "congratulations your iphone is now unlocked"

iPhone Unlocking Instructions
1. Connect the iPhone to iTunes.
2. From the Devices Menu on the left hand side of the iTunes screen, right click on the iPhone and select Back Up.
3. Once the Back Up has completed click the Restore button, from within the Version section on the iPhone summary tab.
4. When the Restore has completed, a message advising the iPhone has been unlocked will appear (see below).


5. Click the Continue button.
6. Tick the Restore from the backup of: tickbox and select your iPhone from the drop down list.


7. Click the Continue button.
8. Your iPhone is now unlocked and has been restored, however you will need to Sync the iPhone with iTunes to re add all your media to the iPhone.

But first u have to request ur unlock code from ur network provider and then u get an mail like this I got from vodafone irl

still not unlocked.... supposed it must be really taking the 28days that they said it could take, dammit.

Apple won't be able to help you so it would be a wares trip, they will just tell you to talk to your carrier
