Iphone 4 to Iphone 5 question

I am going to be upgrading from the iphone 4 to iphone 5. Do I just need to open up itunes and do a full backup and when I get my iphone 5 just do a restore from backup?

Do a backup of your iPhone 4 before activating your iPhone 5. Once your iPhone 5 is activated, you can set it up from the backup of your iPhone 4.

Thanks that is what I meant. I meant do a backup of the iphone 4, purchase the iphone 5, hook up to itunes, restore from backup.
