iPhone 4 stuck on apple logo after jailbreak failed

iPhone 4 got stuck during the jailbreak process using redsn0w b4, been trying to reboot since. It's a friend's phone who thought who backed up but hasn't for 2 months, not keen on losing pictures stored on iPhone.

First time I've come across the problem so I'm not sure how to deal with it. Tried rejailbreaking but it gets stuck at the same step.

If you are Jailbreaking on a Mac, try doing it on a Windows machine. Or if on a Windows machine, try on a Mac.
This worked on previous jailbreaks of older firmwares.
