I took my iphone apart to replace the screen and now that i have it looking nice i have realized the service and 3g jump from full bar to no service.

signal is worse when moving or holding the phone.

I have replaced the antenna for service but no different.

I have also turned mobile data + 3g off but the service signal has same issue.

I have reset the phone and the network settings. with no luck.

I also put electrical tape around the metal frame but still no luck.

I will now try to jailbreak it to hack firmware if i can find my usb cable :(

Did you place the grounding clips back in their factory locations and positions? Not having those or being misaligned will play havoc w/ your cell signal.

hey thomas could you send me a pic of the grounding clips and i will have a check.

Is the metal clip thingy from the speaker/antenna properly connnected to the logic board?
Often very difficult to see if the wire is properly pressed all the way down.

Also make sure the screws for the speakers are properly screwed on.
Those 2 on each side of the speaker!

And as always, a fresh restore has never hurt anyone.

yes all the metal clips are connected to the metal plate. And the antenna/speaker connector is pressed all the way down.

I have bought a screw pack with all the necessary screws but i have both of screws, screwed right in.

Still no luck same problem.

I'm gonna take it all apart again and start from scratch it would be helpful if i knew all of the grounding clips in the iphone 4.

Hmm okay, I think the left screw under the logic board acts as a grounding for the antenna/speaker.

As you noted you replaced the antenna right?
Always when replacing the antenna on a iPhone it is mandatory to buy an OEM part.
Those cheap chinese antennas on Ebay are never recommended.

It could also be the midframe or bezel(silver metal fram surounding the iPhone)
I believe the antenna goes through the buttom of the iPhone (Bezel)
