Iphone 4 : Network Issue : Help

Hello Friends

I have been gifted Iphone 4 from my cousin in Australia.
The phone is already unlocked.
I stay in India.
The problem is that I am not getting sufficient network even in open skies.
I am in 100 % Line of sight of Mobile Towers.
I am using BSNL Service In India.
The phone was used with 3 service of australia.
Help me please ..
the phone is upgraded already to latest OS 6.0

Open skies and clear line of sight doesn't mean anything in the cellular data world. Your signal reflects on how much "effort" if you will, that your iPhone puts into grabbing the signal. Everyone is fighting over the same signal, just that some are working harder in terms of decibels to grab those signals than others
