Iphone 4. How to check what's running in background?

As it is, had a look online and couldn't find anything.

EDIT: Figured it out.

If anyone else looking at this and wondering, you double click home button, then your apps will show, hold down app button then they will start to wiggle. Then just press the red - like you would press an X in windows.

That is a loaded question. Which is why you probably didn't find a good answer. Prior to becoming an iOS developer I found this app on the market - App Store - System Status - activity manager, network monitor, performance data & device info app

Should you buy this app, you can click on the Processes button and it will list everything running. But beware it shows users apps (apps you bought) as well as system apps (came with iOS). So you will have to do a little reading but it is a complete view of what you are asking for.
