The iphone4 I bought is giving me nothing but trouble.
At first the battery lasted approx. one day.
Charging was difficult and random.

Now the phone is dead. Connecting it to the charger gave no change.
I measured the charging current, it was zero, so that explains.....

I did remove the battery and measured 2,4 V on its connector.

Connecting a 5V power supply via the USB port to the phone connector did not provide any voltage on the battery connector inside the phone.

I do have the following questions :
What is the pin layout of the battery connector so I can try to charge it while out of the phone using a voltage/current controlled PSU.
(I do not want to destroy the voltage regulator circuit of the batttery)

Why don't I measure any voltage on the internal battery connector inside the phone, while the USB connector is being fed with 5V DC.
Would that indicate a bad connection between the outside connector and the internal battery connector or is this normal.

Any help or hints on this (or even some schematic diagrams) would be much appreciated.

Henk

Are you in the USA, did you get the phone from a retail store, is it NEW? In other words, if you just got the phone, you have a 30-day return policy (at most). If I were you, I'd take it back and ask many questions!!
