I've had this problem once before and the only thing I could do to recover the disappeared calendar entries was to completely reset the phone and install are cent iCloud backup however it was a real pain to do and don't want to go through that pain again, also I no longer backup to iCloud so can't reload backup anyway 
Calendar was working fine and full of past and 6 months future appointments and have opened it a couple of times today and it's been fine but opened it again about an hour ago when I was I a poor signal area and my calendar is completely empty. All the information stored in appointments past and present just gone - I'm lost without this so can anyone please advise if there is a way to restore the missing data?
I've rebooted and followed an older suggestion to go into settings, mail, contacts and calendar and sync but the sync button only allows you t select sync period upto 6 months or all, it doesn't force a sync.
Please, please, please someone must know what to do - I hope :-/
