iphone 3 gs gone bonkers, please help

so the 3 gs on att, is a few yrs old and has been dropped a few times

i initally had start up issues but i pushed the ribbon back in place and now that is ok

but then the touch screen wasnt working, so i fiddled around with ribbon 2, and now thats ok

but now its gone bonkers, it randomly goes through the messages, emails, texts, apps, and randomly performs commands as if there is a ghost hand doing everything.... i need help,

TOOK it to a local cellphone repair place, he tried a new touchscreen lcd and digitizer and it still acted up

he then thought that maybe some of the soldering ponts might be off, so he heated it with a gun, still didnt work, and actually didnt turn on at alllllllll......he then tried to fix it for the next hour, by repeating those steps of removing everything and i mean everything and heating it and coolig it and it still didit work

so i had to goto BB and get an iphone 4
