i have an iphone 3 that is not jailbroken can i put apps on this without using itunes because i was given this phone and when trying to put apps on this it is asking for a password wich i do not no is there a way of doing this

Downloading apps through the App Store requires an iTunes account. You can get an account for free...

Yes sir... having an iTunes account is the only way to download apps. Might want to look into a Prepaid Visa or something along those lines to set it up with. I know of a few users here that do it that way... so they don't overspend. LOL!!
