Apple has today announced the immediate release of iOS 6.1. According to the press release, the update adds LTE capabilities for 36 new iPhone carriers and 23 iPad carriers worldwide. This means that more users all over the world will be able to enjoy ultrafast wireless, with Apple also touting the fact that to date, iOS users have uploaded more than nine billion photos to Photo Stream, sent more than 450 billion iMessages, and received over four trillion notifications.

“iOS 6 is the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, and with nearly 300 million iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices on iOS 6 in just five months, it may be the most popular new version of an OS in history,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iOS 6.1 brings LTE support to more markets around the world, so even more users can enjoy ultrafast Safari browsing, FaceTime video calls, iCloud services, and iTunes and App Store downloads.”
iOS 6.1 is available now to download, and is compatible with iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad (third and fourth gen), iPad 2, iPad mini and iPod touch (fourth and fifth gen).

In addition... if you're currently Jailbroken or waiting for the Untethered 6.0+ Jailbreak, DO NOT update to 6.1 yet. Let's wait and see what the Devs say regarding updates.

Musclenerd is known for getting ahead of himself. Please everyone... wait to update till we have solid information from several members of the Dev team before you update to iOS 6.1.

I'm not saying your info is wrong... lets just be patient here for a little bit longer.
