In March of 2013, Epic Games took the stage of the iPad 3 event, teasing a new game called Infinity Blade Dungeons. This game was supposed to be a prequel to the currently Infinity Blade and its sequel. Unfortunately, a few month passed after the event, and there was no word from the developer Impossible Studios. Nobody really knew what was going on, Dungeons was officially put on hold, but today we find out the game has been officially cancelled.

Via IGN:
“Given the positive early reception the game had received from IGN and other game critics, many held out hope that the game would resurface. Maybe even at the hands of Infinity Blade 1 and 2 developer Chair itself. But on the most recent episode of the official Epic Games podcast, Chair Co-Founder and Creative Director Donald Mustard officially confirmed that the game is dead.”

Infinity Blade Dungeons looked like it could have been one of the most stunning titles on Retina Display devices. It's a shame that Impossible Studios closed down and took Dungeons along with it. However, Chair mentioned that the Infinity Blade universe is still very much alive and has a ton of new content coming in the future.
