It seems as though I'm not receiving messages from others with I phones. When I send to them it comes up with my email address rather than number. Any ideas??

in iMessage-settings-recieve at-caller id-do you have your phone number checked rather than your email address?

My number is checked on caller id. On the 'you can be reached for messages at' I can only have my email address highlighted not my number which is in grey above my email.

Any ideas why I'm not receiving texts that are being sent, yet once I txt them they can then txt me back. Only seems to happen with other I phones

mine is the same,my phone number is greyed out above my email address,when you text someone is it sms or iMessage?also when they text you back is it iMessage,when they reply is the bubble blue?

If it gets through to me, which it sometimes does, it can be either iMessage or txt. However often it shows on their iPhone that it's been sent but never arrives at my iPhone.

im not sure what is happening here but i will try to work it out.

when a message is sent and showing "sent" but never arrives at its destination its usually a problem with the network provider,I'm wondering if you should check with your provider just to rule it out,your settings seem to be ok from what you have said,let us know how it goes.

Is the issue still there whilst connected to wifi. Might be worth getting someone to try sending you an iMessage whilst you are connected to wifi. That should help with the diagnostics of the problem.
