iMessage sends texts from my apple ID rather than my phone number

This is starting to piss me off
When I go to receive at:
It says "you can be reached for messages at:
Phone number : xxxxxxxxx
Email: xxxxxxxxxxxx"

Obviously instead of x's it's my actual information
But it won't let me press my phone number to choose it
WHAT'S THE DEAL?!?!?!
I've signed In and out of my apple id
And turned iMessage on and off multiple times

Actually it is set to my phone number,
That's for my caller Id to
It will not let me press it to change it to my number for my messages, any other suggestions?

Settings- messages- receive at- caller ID- then just click on your number. 8)
