I just took a new job which provided me with a brand new iPhone 5. So now I have two 5's.

I'd like to sell my personal phone so here is my question. If the buyer should ever need support from Apple, does he need my original receipt? I still have it, however, I feel a little uncomfortable letting a stranger know my Apple ID, lest they ever try to hack my account with the info on the receipt.

Shouldn't need it. I purchased my iPhone 4 used (3rd owner) and haven't any issues getting support when I needed it. Not that I've needed it a lot, mind you.

If you still want to offer the reciept, is there a way you can blacken your ID and not destory any other information that the new owner might need?

If there is a warranty left you have to give the receipt. Otherwise you don't need to give the receipt.

You can cut that portion out really. All they need is the date of purchase and the portion that says the phone's serial and such so the buyer knows when the 1 year with your iPhone starts and ends.
