How to make sure my backup does backup all my app and music ?

Every time I replace my new iphone I alway encounter one issue that is my apps and music is lost and I need to download one by one . Can some one share with me why ?

iTunes/iCloud backups don't backup any music or apps they are saved on your iTunes library and unfortunately every time you restore you have to sync them all again
