How to lock your applications and messaged

Is there any way lock your messages and important apps

Unless you jailbreak and install "lockdown pro" from cydia, there is no way to lock your message and important apps. Some apps do come with a password protection in them, apps like "awesome note" "momento" etc... One universal way which Apple provide on the iDevice to protect your apps and everything is to put a 4 digits passcode on your lock screen.
