i was wondering, if you got ALL the sources, wouldnt it take a pretty long time to update all the sources and download all the packages before you can even start browsing?

You get the "source" to download the package. You have the option to download the app only if you want. It takes no more than about 5 min to do this. I did this watching the video and have tons of reference sources at my disposal. I think there are about 10 primary leads but each lead has several links to apps.
