You can't downgrade to an iOS version that Apple is no longer signing. Your iPhone cannot be downgraded from it's current iOS.

Already covered by scifan57. To add on, because you're posting this in the 5S subforum, I'm assuming we're talking about the 5S. The 5S was introduced with iOS 7.0 GM, meaning iOS 6 was never designed for the device, so even if it was possible to downgrade, you cannot downgrade because it simply did not exist for the 5S. From digging on the 5S, more than likely you will never be able to downgrade the 5S because of the nature of the on-board A7 chipset. Though it's too early to tell because root access is needed to confirm, from preliminary snooping, it's more than likely the case.
