You must delete them using iTunes. Make sure to click manually manage music.

Nope. Not unless you use ifile but that requires a jailbreak. Even doing this method you wouldn't know exactly what file you're deleting

Once iOS 5 arrives we will be able to delete individual songs from iPod/iPhone/iPad.

Yes you can wait but it's not difficult to open up iTunes and remove a single song or albums. Ive been doing this all night with my iPad. So far I deleted 20gbs of music
