How to add to calendar?

Since upgrade to OS 5 I can't figure out how to add an appointment to my contacts. The new reminder app is cool but cumbersome. What am I'm missing

I meant calendar not contacts!

You should be able to just tap on the day to select it and then the tap the "+", and an "Add Event" screen should appear with keyboard and all. I think it's about the same as it was with iOS 4.

I had this issue today as well. You need to go to settings mail, calendar etc and switch on the calendar associated with your email. Go back to calendar and the plus sign at the top right should appear. If you don't want the calendar associated with your email account (like gmail) go back to settings and switch it off. The plus sign should remain there!
