How do you lock the phone?

I understand how to close the phone (by pressing the power switch quickly), but how do you "lock" it so that the next time it's used, you'd need the passcode (other than changing the auto-lock settings)

Once you set up the pass code lock when you use the power button to lock your device it will ask for a your pass code to unlock. It's simple.
