hey everyone...im new here, and also to jailbreaking....i have an iphone 3gs with iOS 4.1 now...

Why not update to 5.1.1 and enjoy the later untethered jailbreak?

Just sayin'...

But if the phone is *unofficially* unlocked then you will have to update via a custom 5.1.1 iPSW made with Sn0wbreeze to keep the unlock.
