Help: Something is wrong with my iPhone 5!

All of the sudden, my iPhone shows that I have NO PHOTOS and no albums on the phone. However, when I check from the settings, it shows that I have used 3.5 GB of photos in my camera.
Even the guy at the Apple store thought it was weird and confusing. He told me to Back it Up to my iCloud and hope it'll show... However, the backing up is taking over 24 hours now. Any suggestions? Has anyone had this problem?​

Make sure that your device is unlocked before backing up, or iTunes won't be able to back it up. Alternatively, I'd download iExplorer, plug your device in, click on the Photos tab and see if the files are still in there. They might've been moved for some reason or another. The link is below and the utility is free. It does not require a jailbreak or anything. It works on any device
