I just bought an iPhone 3gs from a friend of mine, and I intended to jailbreak it and unlock it so I could use it for tmobile, BUT neither the phone or the AT&T simcard that was in it are active anymore, and I'm stuck with nothing but the access to make "emergency calls". I've been watching videos and reading threads and articles online on how to active it without a sim card, and how to jailbreak and unlock it once it's activated, BUT that brings me to my second problem; neither of the computers (not just itunes, but the computers themselves. And I tried it on both a mac and a pc) I have plugged it into recognize/find the phone at all (I even got a brand new chord in case it was the chord, but that changed nothing). It doesn't even change the screen on the phone itself; yet when I plug it into the charger in my car, it vibrates, screen lights up, and starts charging right away. I'm at a loss of what to do, any help on what to do would be much appreciated. I'
