Greyed out songs

I have an iPhone 12 running iOS 18.5. Until very recently I’ve had no trouble playing music through my cars entertainment system.
Some time ago I bought a new song on the iTunes Store and for some reason it wouldn’t play in my car. I shut down and restarted my iPhone and it seemed to cure the issue. This happened again with another song with the same result. A few days ago I decided to try using Apple Maps in my car. It was a bit of trial and required me to turn off my cars entertainment system before starting the Maps app.
Now I’ve found that the first five songs on my iPhone won’t play at all when I’m in my car. I just noticed today that these five songs are greyed out when I’m in my car, but not when my phones connected to WiFi. The phone does ask me to connect to WiFi or other network to play these songs when I’m in the car. Some of the songs have been on my iPhone for years and have played just fine before. I’ve tried the usual of unpairing and restarting etc but no joy.
Any ideas what’s got going on?

Update: The music app wants me to be connected to a network, either WiFi or Mobile Data for these first five songs. Quite why this has occurred now is somewhat confusing. I don’t have mobile data turned on as it’s not often needed and I don’t want to burn through my pay & Go credit quickly.

According to the app the five songs have not been downloaded?! How I’ve been able to listen to these tracks before In the car is a mystery. I’ve now downloaded them but not tried playing them in the car yet. Fingers crossed.
