After quite a while, Google has finally updated its official Chrome app for iOS users with the long overdue swipe to navigate feature. Thus, by updating to the latest version that can be found by following the link from below, iPhone and iPad owners now have the ability to swipe right or left to navigate backward or forward. Here's how the official changelog for this version looks like:
  • Swipe to navigate: swipe right or left to navigate backward or forward
  • Stability improvements and bug fixes
This version also lays the groundwork for another major feature addition: Physical Web integration in the Notification Center’s Today view. This technology takes advantage of Google’s recently announced Eddystone beacon technology and the new Proximity Beacon APIs in order to push information to devices over Bluetooth transmitters. In other words, The Physical Web is an open source web specification from Google which looks to make interacting with smart devices in the real world very easy.
