you wont get any help on this forum on keeping a phone that doesn't belong to,you should hand it in to the nearest police station so that it can be reunited with its owner.

+1...

dicas since you are new to iOS and Apple products, you probably aren't aware that the iPhone has a built in security feature called "Find my iPhone". That feature allows the owner to find the iPhone to within plus or minus 9 feet.

I believe it would be in your best interest to return the phone to its owner or at least turn it over to your local law enforcement agency before you can possibly be prosecuted for theft. And since most iPhone cost more than $500 (USD) new, I believe that would raise the level of the potential fines and sentence above just petty theft.

in my country if we return the iPhone to the police they will keep them. Once I lost my wallet and I had about 50€ a paycheck and my id's. My neighbor found it, and left it to the police. And when I was called to pick my wallet. The only thing I had was my id's. Nothing else

in that case contact Apple with the EMEI number, they will know who bought it....do the right thing.

Just because someone else is dishonest doesn't mean you should be as well. That is like saying if I was to jump off a 1000 foot high cliff with no way to halt the fall, that you should do it as well.

You either set the example or you continue to be part of the problem.

Try holding down the home button until voice control starts. Say phone, home or Mom or Dad. Hopefully someone will answer so you can tell them you have their phone

Considering several members, including myself, have advised you to do what is right and you still wish you make excuses for why not to turn the phone in.... this thread is CLOSED!!!
