Evasi0n7 (iOS 7) Jailbreak Discussion Thread

Well apparently you have to run evasion7 1.0.7 twice all the way up to the tap the evasion icon but just delete it and reboot like everyone said about 1.0.6. Anyways I got it to finally work.

Hey all,

I posted this is the help section (deleted now) and got no help after over 100 views. I'm guessing because I am jailbroke. I have a 16gb iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.6. using the latest Evasi0n7.

I have never downloaded any camera or recording apps from the app store or from cydia.

I can open up the video recorder, I can tap the on-screen record button OR the volume button and it will start to record a video. I see the timer counting up etc.

However, I cannot push ANY button to get it to stop recording and save the recording. I just have to close the camera app completely which does not save the video. The camera button works fine for pics. This is only an issue with the video recorder and only when trying to STOP the recording.

I've restored, resprung, hard reset etc. No clue whats causing it or how to fix it.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Rik

Which one are you using.

The tweak I mean.

Not using any camera or video tweaks. It's the built in camera/video that the stop-recording button has stopped working on.

Only other tweaks Im using at all are springtomize, android lock xt, flux, asktocall and lockdown pro and messages Customiser.

I read it as using a screen recorder to record the actual screen.

Try a hard reset of the device. It's not a known issue of the Camera app on iOS 7.

Was just hoping for some insight on what might be causing it or how to fix it. It just baffels me that I can START a recording, but cant stop it with the same on-screen button.

Most likely one of your jailbreak apps/tweaks is conflicting with it. My button works just fine to start and stop the video recording. That proves it's nothing in the 7.0.6 itself. Try turning your phone all the way off. Then hit the Power Button on top to start it. The moment you hit that button - hit the 'up' volume button and hold it all the way until the phone starts up. This will place you in Substrate Safe Mode with no jailbreak tweaks loaded. Immediately go into the Video app and start a video and then hit stop. I'm quite sure the video stop button will work this time. That will be proof that one of your tweaks is conflicting with the video recording app. Finding out which one - is tedious work. I can walk you through the tedious testing process. But first things first. Do the main test I've outlined above and tell me if the off button works while in safe mode.

To get out of safe mode - just restart phone.

This. The only thing that can potentially be a cause for this would be Lockdown Pro. If you're recording via the lockscreen while the app is locked on the springboard, you won't have access to the system directories.

Outside of that, it would just be a soft hiccup that should be resolvable with a hard reset, nothing code related
