E-mail on iPhone 4

I set up 3 e-mail accounts on my iPhone 4 the day I got it. 2 Gmail and 1 Yahoo. It's been working okay since then.

What's the difference between setting up the accounts by selecting them in the menu or selecting exchange? I've seen on other forums that people have a Gmail exchange account, and a Gmail IMAP account. What are the differences in those?

Any help would be appreciated. I did a quick search in the forum and with google and couldn't find the answers. Point me in the right direction.

Use this to setup google. It will then push instantly to your phone instead of checking every 15min.

Thanks thats what I needed. Did it during a MIS class earlier. Worked great.
