Delete contacts from ex's phone?

Hello, I am totally new to this and not very good with the iphone. Last night I did the upgrade to my iphone 3G. Apparently I backed up on the iCLoud. Today, my ex asked me who all of these people were. Is there any way, short from getting their phone, to delete that information from their phone?
