Closing apps

How do you close down apps correctly?

This does not remove the app from your phone? On my iPad when i do this the app is no longer on my iPad.

Not if you double tap the home button. If you delete an icon from one of your home screens it will remove the app & data from your phone. Double tapping the home button is where you close apps.

No it doesn't. You're holding on the app on the home screen. The method I stated is the only way to close apps.

The apps will be in a tray like this.

Thanks, did this and eventually figured it out. Only difference was that I had a delete icon instead of a cross and the apps didn't wiggle. There were loads of apps open!!
