When charging my iPhone has starting displaying this message, "this device does not support charging", and then the charging is suspended! It does not do this when using car charger. Any suggestions on how to fix?

You could try a hard reset, this fixes many glitches, hold down your on/off and home buttons together until the apple appears.

If the car charger is 3rd party but not from an authorized company, that may also be the issue. But always try a hard reset first for almost all issues that you have, as it is a universal fix for many issues, particularly with accessories.

If it works for the car and not anywhere else, it's more than likely just a hiccup that a hard reset should be able to fix. Usually it's the other way around.
