Can't update apps

When I try to update apps on my 6s the little progress wheel just spins and does nothing. This has gone on for about 3-4 days. When I try to install Facebook, as soon as I hit install it simply goes back to the home screen. Any ideas?

No. I've only had the phone a couple of weeks. I don't even know which two buttons you are referring to.

Press and hold both the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears, then release both buttons and wait for the iPhone to restart.
