can't messege some contacts

I cannot messege about 30% of my contacts and they can't messege me. As soon as you call up a contact you can tell it won't work because the send button is green. Usually its blue.
I have tried everything i know, which is limited. Any help would be great. Its very fustrating

The blue only means that you are utilizing iMessage. The green is regular sms/mms. The colors have no bearing on whether or not the message will get sent. Can you rephrase your question to more accurately describe the issue? Are you referring to iMessage issues?

Yes IMessage. Some contacts cant be messaged and they cant message me even if they have an i phone
