My camera/video has frozen on my 3gs, any suggestions? Very annoying at best

Hold both home and sleep buttons together until phone restarts and the white apple appear.Let go of buttons and let it reboot.Try camera again.

Restored as " new phone", no change. Could it be an internal problem? I.E., ribbon connection, etc.?

Latest post on my camera issue. I pulled my phone apart(again). It turned out to be a loose ribbon connection. Put it back together(again), and it works perfectly. Pretty tough equipment, these iPhones. Thank goodness for that.
