Calendar and iPhone synce but Contacts do not

I'm running a MacBook Pro with the latest OS and a iPhone 7 with iOS 11.4.1.

The Calendar on my MacBook Pro and iPhone 7 sync fine with each other.

When I put something in Contacts on my iPhone, it shows up on the MacBook Pro. However, if I put something in Contacts on the MacBook Pro, it doesn't show up on the iPhone. Do I have a wrong setting somewhere? Thank you in advance for your expertise and assistance.

On the iPhone, make sure Contacts is enabled for the same account you save them on your MacBook Pro.

Go to the Contacts app, and swipe down from the top to refresh your contacts. If that doesn’t help, go to Groups (still in the Contacts app), and make sure the right account is checkmarked.

Force close the Contacts app, if necessary, and restart your device.
