AppleInsider reports that the first iPhone 4 models to be made in Brazil have gone onsale for the first time. The 8-gig models are currently only on sale in their country of origin; AppleInsider says that the price of the Brazil-made handsets has remained the same as the iPhone 4 models that were made in China, with the same phone that would cost $549 in the US costing approximately $1000 in Brazil. The phones are still made by Foxconn, but in their new Brazilian plants, instead of those in China. It seems that both black and white iPhone 4 models are being made there. Currently it is only the iPhone 4 that has been heard about by Meio Bit, the website that found out that these new Brazil-made iPhone 4 devices are being shipped to customers who order them online. AppleInsider says that there is yet no word that Apple’s newest model, the iPhone 4S is also being made in Brazil.[/FONT]
