Apple’s iPhone 5 has made its debut in China today, and 31 other countries as well. AppleInsider reports that, in part due to a snow storm, as well as Apple’s new pre-ordering system, there were not many long lines to be seen outside Apple stores in China of people waiting for the new phone. In fact, AppleInsider says that the Sanlitun Apple Store, which is Apple’s first retail store in China, had a surfeit of employees waiting around ready to greet customers who never turned up in the end. Despite the apparent customer no-show, however, Apple need not be worried about sales in China, as just a few days ago it was reported that China Unicom had taken more than 300,000 preorders for the iPhone 5. The other countries where the iPhone 5 launched today are as follows: [/FONT]
