Better multitask switching for iOS5?

I think instead of using 3 or 4 fingers and swiping, you should be able to hold the home button and swipe left or right. If you swipe up it will show the switcher. And down would simulate the home button. What do you guys think? Ps. This is my first post here

what would be good is the ability to keep apps open for more then 10 minutes like irc disconnects after 10 minutes of keeping it in the background
