Atari Launches Free iOS Arcade App and 100 Retro Titles

Atari has today launched an amazing free iOS app, as well as 100 classic Atari games, including original cabinets and box art. The initial app is free, and comes complete with PONG, with the remaining 18 arcade games and 92 Atari 2600 games being available as in-app purchases, either in 25 separate packs at $0.99 each, or at just $14.99 for all 100. Some of the titles have been given Bluetooth multiplayer modes, but other than that they stay pretty true to the originals. The classic blast-from-the-past games include the likes of Asteroids, Gravitar, Breakout, and Fatal Run, and many, many more. Click through to the Touch Arcade link below to see a list of all 100 titles, complete with bundle names. The app is also the first to be released to support the forthcoming iCade iPad game cabinet. Atari’s Greatest Hits is already available in the New Zealand app store, and should be available worldwide from tomorrow.
