I belive they are, if it comes to 4-4s camera is biggest improvement. If it comes to 3g-3gs RAM memory.
From what the S suffix iPhones have shown so far, it's keeping the physical appearance or a similar appearance of it and just changing some of the internal hardware. The core differences between the original and the S models as far as history can tell us is the fact that every S model has had a processor upgrade, a RAM upgrade and a camera upgrade as Beast from the East said. Assuming this correlation still takes place, the 5S can potentially be a quad core iPhone.
That is what i had heard about the 4s. So i think i will wait for the 5s
There is no point of just upgrading the RAM itself, that alone won't get the attention of more tech savvy users, and for the non-tech savvy consumers, there would be no grasping point for Apple. You would have to have something else that captivates them in terms of functionality. From my experience, 4 out of 5 consumers won't give a hoot about the RAM upgrade. If you, however, say it runs faster because it has a better processor, they would at least recognize "faster" and "runs better".
Quad processor possibly?
